Daisy Daisy, give me your answer do.

I have been busy recently making lots and lots of bightly coloured daisies.

Doesn't that picture just brighten up your day?

I made a pair of earrings with a pair of the small green daisies

and I had a commission for a bracelet which specifically requested using one of my daisy toggle clasps.

Fortunately the customer loved it and it is on it's way to them now.

I have a range of daisies in both sizes available in my Etsy store.

Large daisy beads can be made into toggle clasps on request.

Thanks for looking.

Treasuries

For those of you that don't know (and I'm sure there aren't many of you). Treasuries are a great way of collecting your favourite items and doing a bit of promotion. As a new member of the Craft Pimp team this is one of the ways that we promote each other.

This month I am fortunate enough to have my jewellery and beads featured in two treasuries.

The hedges are showing a flash of green growth, to celebrate an exclusive treasury of green things from the CPTeam.

My Bead Soup has arrived.

Yay! my bead soup has arrived from my partner Cilla Watkins of Canada. The package arrived so quickly and opening it was so exciting - just like Christmas. Cilla writes her own blog called Tell Your Girlfriends.

This is what she sent me.
What a beautiful selection!

A beautiful little note

All beautifully labeled so I know what came from where.

Aren't I a lucky girl?

I am so excited, it is such a lovely selection and my brain is already ticking over with ideas.

Our reveal date is 13th of April, 2013 so be sure to check back and see what we have both made.

Thanks for looking.

Cabs and Poppers with Mango Beads

As I was already in Barnstaple for the weekend it made perfect sense to me to do the Cabs and Poppers workshop with Amanda Muddimer of Mango Beads as this is not something I've tried before.

I believe this workshop was put on as a special request from a lady who had travelled all the way from Berlin for Melanie Moertels workshop so it was just the two of us.

I'm ashamed to say I was so engrossed in what I was doing I completely forgot to take any pictures of Amanda demoing or us making beads. Anyway, it was very enjoyable, I learnt a lot and here are a pic of the cabs and poppers I made.

Of course I had to buy a cab mandrel so that I could practice at home.

Thanks for looking.

AJE Earrings challenge Reveal Weeks 5-6/52

I am really enjoying this earring challenge from AJE. It's encouraging me to come up with new designs and use some of those components that have been lying around for a while.

This pair is a prime example. I have had these hoops like forever and decided it was time to do something with them.

I made the red glass and silver beads and teamed them with some red Ab crystals and some silver findings. Cute aren't they?

Now unfortunately I can't claim these as a new design but one that has proved popular. You can't make it out very well in the photo but the discs are made(by me) of a silver rich Double Helix glass called Gaia and they have an oil slick sheen to them. Teamed with green AB crystals and silver findings.

Some of us in the challenge post our images on the AJE Earring Challenge board on Pinterest and it's such fun popping over to see what's been made.

Here are the links to the other reveals.

Giveaway - Winner Revealed TERESA HULLEY

Those two weeks passed by very quickly and the time has come to reveal the winner of my bead giveaway.

I had 113 entries in total and it has been such fun reading all your lovely comments about my work.

and the winner is .........  TERESA HULLEY of Bo Hulley Beads.

FIX I might here some of you shout as Teresa is my friend but I kid you not. I was very surprised when her name was picked and to prove it here is a screen shot of the random number generator I used.

and a scan of the list I made of the names each with their own number.

You can see that the umber generator chose 17 and that Teresa is number 17 in the list.

Congratulations Teresa.

If you were one of the unfortunate loosers, don't forget you can buy my beads in my Etsy store Earthshinebeads.

Thanks for looking.

Day 2 Melanie Moertel Workshop at Mango Beads

The first job on the 2nd day of any workshop is to look at the beads you made the day before. You saw mine yesterday but here's another look.

I'm almost ashamed to admit they are mine - but we all have to start somewhere. Lots of the class dumped their beads in the water jar but I like to keep mine as you can never tell what inspiring colour combinations might reveal themselves.

Today we got to make a heart bead, an elephant bead and one of Melanies signature bead 'The angel bead'.

Melanie told us a story about how each bead design came to her, demoed and then it was our turn.

These are all the beads I made over the weekend. The bottom right one is the heart bead, the top right one is the elephant and the bottom left is the fairy bead. I didn't really like the fairy beads at first but I have to say they have grown on me.

All in all I would say that a good time was had by all and I made a lot of new friends who I hope to meet up with at Flame Off in April. Melanie was a good teacher and if you get a chance I would recommend a class with her.
